What is pH and Why is it Important?
pH is a measurement unit that shows the acidic or basic degree of a solution. This scale, which has a value between 0 and 14, defines values below 7 as acidic and values above as basic. In agriculture, pH is quite important for the chemical balance of both the soil and the irrigation water.
Plant roots can only take up nutrients effectively within certain pH ranges. For this reason, if the pH value of the irrigation water or the growing medium is not in balance, the plant cannot receive enough nutrients, its development slows down, and its yield decreases. Especially in soilless agriculture applications carried out in closed systems, monitoring the pH balance instantly is one of the most important steps to success. Correct pH level is of great importance in terms of the healthy growth of the plant, nutrient uptake, and increasing its resistance against diseases.

The Smart Series device has 1 pH, 1 EC, and 1 temperature probe input. It offers ease of maintenance thanks to replaceable probes. It also responds to different needs with its dry contact output, RS485/MODBUS communication options, and models with/without a screen.
