What is a Water Meter

Water meters measure the unit of water passing through them using mechanical or ultrasonic methods. Meters that show the water flow instantaneously display the consumption value made with these instantaneous values. The most and commonly used water meter models are mechanical. Water flow is measured with the rotating mechanical mechanism located inside mechanical water meters.

Mechanical water meters are preferred especially inside buildings due to their affordable costs and long working lives. Their biggest problems are that they get dirty very quickly and lose their calibration values, so they are not much preferred in agricultural irrigation.

Ultrasonic water meters are used more in agricultural areas. Since they do not contain any mechanical parts, they are more preferred in dirty water measurements.
