Azerbaijan Walnut and Almond 600 Decares Smart Irrigation Systems

It operates within the framework of a remote control and monitoring project spread over a large land area of 600 hectares, divided into 2 shares, with 50 valves, 2 pipes, 2 pressure sensors, and 2 pulsed water meter systems. It made a difference by working together. It has been modernized with the monitoring of monthly and instantaneous water consumption and keeping the leakage status under control.

With Esular technologies, we offered smart automation for the needs of Azerbaijan's Walnut and Almond orchards, so that operations began to be carried out more easily and effectively.

Problems Before Esular

  • Difficulty of Manual Control: Manually controlling 50 valves located in a large area and 2 different locations was time-consuming and inefficient.
  • Inefficient Irrigation and Energy: Irrigation processes carried out with traditional methods, high labor costs, difficulty in manual control, and irregular operation.
  • Lack of Control and Monitoring: The lack of monitoring systems from a central point and the absence of data caused potential problems to be detected late.

Our Azerbaijani customer aimed to switch to smart and automatic irrigation systems to solve these problems that reduced operational efficiency and increased costs.

How Did We Solve the Problem?

  • Remote Controlled Smart System: 2 wells located in different places were digitized. A fully automatic system was implemented, thus enabling remote control of the wells and 24/7 monitoring of the water level via mobile application and the internet.
  • Manual Control: 2 valve control units were installed on 50 valves spread across the land, providing communication via RF and remote control.
  • Efficient Irrigation: With the installation of the remote-controlled water meter, the efficiency of the wells was increased. Thus, monthly water consumption was monitored and calculated via the mobile application. Monthly water costs decreased.
  • Central Management Software: A software infrastructure was created that allows managing all systems on a single platform.
  • Mobile Access Opportunity: It can be done from anywhere and at any time via mobile phone or tablet with Esular's mobile application. Thus, it became possible to access the smart irrigation system at any time.
  • Pressure Control: When the mains water and the pool are not full, the pumps constantly fail, and it is difficult to take manual precautions.
  • Automation and Planning: The system is programmed for automatic irrigation according to the determined schedule and plant needs. While this minimizes human error, optimal water use was achieved with automatic irrigation.
