Mr. Kemal’s mandarin orchard, spreading over a wide area in Tarsus, is a 100-decare mandarin orchard open to modern agricultural techniques. The orchard owner aimed to make irrigation processes more efficient by remotely managing irrigation with the pump station, 4 valves, pressure sensor, water meter, ambient humidity-temperature sensor, and 3 soil moisture sensors located in his orchard.

At this point esular stepped in and optimized the entire process from the water leaving the source to reaching the plant. The sensor technologies used made irrigation smart.

With esular technologies, we offered a smart and automatic irrigation solution for the needs of the orchard, thus operations began to be carried out more easily and effectively.

Mr. Kemal used his pump more efficiently and effectively with pressure control in his irrigation system. Thanks to the ambient temperature-humidity sensor, he performed irrigation based on climate events. Since he could monitor soil moisture values, irrigation occurred as much as the plant needed. Thanks to the water meter used, he calculated water consumption and became aware of situations such as leaks and losses in the irrigation system. High temperatures are seen in the location where the orchard is located; since Mr. Kemal could perform night irrigation with esular systems, he achieved visible savings in water and energy costs.

The main problems Mr. Kemal encountered in his mandarin orchard were:

We developed a comprehensive smart and automatic irrigation solution suitable for the needs of the mandarin orchard with the esular system.

  1. Remote Controlled Smart Valve System: The existing 4 valves were integrated into esular's remote-controlled and automatically managed smart irrigation system. In this way, the opening and closing of the valves became easily and automatically manageable over the internet.
  2. Pump Station Integration: The pump station was restructured to work compatibly with the esular system. Thus, water pumps could be monitored and controlled remotely and managed automatically.
  3. Central Management Software: A software infrastructure was established that allows all systems to be managed from a single platform. Thanks to this software, the farm owner can plan irrigation programs with data received from sensors, monitor the status of valves in real-time, and set automatic irrigation programs.
  4. Mobile Access Opportunity: With esular's mobile application, orchard management can be performed from anywhere and at any time via a mobile phone or tablet. In this way, access to the smart irrigation system became possible at any moment.
  5. Automation and Timing: The system was programmed to perform irrigation automatically according to the determined schedule and plant needs. This minimized human error while providing optimum water use with automatic irrigation.
