Sprinkler Irrigation Systems

Sprinkler irrigation systems are a type of irrigation system performed by spraying pressurized water with a gun in a structure similar to rainfall. Since it allows for the irrigation of an area of dozens of meters with a single gun, its use is becoming quite widespread. In sprinkler irrigation systems, pressurized water, in other words, high-pressure water, is needed for the guns to be able to spray the water to the desired distance. It is possible to provide this pressurized water from pumps or pressurized network lines.

Sprinkler Irrigation Types

Portable Systems :

In the system where the pumping unit can be stationary or portable, all parts up to the main pipe and laterals can be moved. These systems can be moved to different points within the field or from one field to another.

Semi-Portable Systems :

A system consisting of a pumping unit and portable laterals where the main pipes are buried in the soil. Semi-portable sprinkler irrigation systems are the most commonly used in the world. They are used especially in the irrigation of field crops, meadows, pastures, vegetable gardens, and fruit orchards.

Non-Portable Systems:

In the system where the pumping unit, main pipe, and laterals are fixed, the main pipe and laterals are buried underground and are not moved in any way. Non-portable systems are used extensively in citrus fruits, fruit orchards, and permanent meadows.

Advantages of Sprinkler Irrigation System

  1. Enables irrigation in irregular terrain shapes without the need for leveling or different types of adjustment processes
  2. It is possible to obtain a higher irrigation efficiency compared to surface irrigation methods in shallow soils with high permeability
  3. Allows irrigation without raising the groundwater level in regions with high groundwater.
  4. It is possible to eliminate the problem of soil erosion with good sprinkler irrigation projects.
  5. It is possible to perform practical fertilization with liquid fertilizers in the sprinkler irrigation method.
  6. Provides significant savings in labor and time as it allows for the irrigation of wide areas in one go.
  7. Makes soil tillage easier since irrigation water can be adjusted to the desired level.

What are the Disadvantages of Sprinkler Irrigation Systems?

The main disadvantages regarding sprinkler systems are related to climatic conditions, water resources, and cost. Even moderate winds can seriously reduce the efficiency of sprinkler systems by changing the distribution pattern of water droplets. Likewise, when operating under high temperatures, water can evaporate rapidly, reducing the efficiency of irrigation. Although sprinkler irrigation helps farmers use water resources more efficiently, this technology relies on a clean water source and therefore may not be suitable for areas where rain becomes less predictable. Application costs are higher than gravity-fed irrigation systems, and a large labor force is required to move pipes and sprinklers in a non-permanent system. In some places, such labor may not be available and can also be costly.

Products Suitable for Sprinkler Irrigation

One of the fundamental advantages of sprinkler irrigation technology is the more efficient use of water for irrigation in agriculture. Sprinkler systems eliminate water conveyance channels and thus reduce water loss. Water is also distributed more evenly among crops to help prevent waste. Sprinkler irrigation systems have also been shown to increase crop yields and are suitable for most row, field, and tree crops grown together, such as cereals, pulses, wheat, sugar cane, peanuts, cotton, vegetables, fruits, as well as flowers, spices, and condiments.

Sprinkler Irrigation System Automation

Sprinkler irrigation systems, like drip irrigation systems, are among the irrigation methods compatible with remote control and smart irrigation automations. We are developing smart irrigation methods through which you can automatically control irrigation systems established with a solid infrastructure in field conditions remotely. We can offer discrete automatic irrigation solutions from multiple points, especially in large areas.

You can contact us for wireless battery-operated valve, sensor, and remote control options via GSM.

Esular Smart Automatic Irrigation System Application Areas

In places where water resources are scarce, we reduce your costs with drip irrigation automation. Thanks to wireless controllable hydraulic valves, equal water distribution is provided to every point of the field, and all are controlled from a single point

We make irrigation management fully automatic in modern greenhouses to keep greenhouse production at the desired level, improve product quality, and keep the pH balance under control

We enable you to use and manage the world's most valuable resource in the most efficient way without the need for cabling and external power supply in all your agricultural lands. Whether you determine your irrigation scenario or perform fully automatic irrigation

We provide more efficient and effective irrigation by making valves smart in landscape irrigation. With remotely controllable valves and remotely updated scenarios, all control is in your hands

Homogeneous irrigation is ensured by controlling flow and pressure values in golf and football fields. All valves and pumps can be controlled remotely without pulling cables

Smart irrigation city projects

Smart Cities

In smart city applications, we ensure that irrigation zones are irrigated on time and as desired with sensors that can work with wireless and 10+ year internal batteries. No more sprinklers that irrigate when it rains
