Enables irrigation without going to the field

Developing battery-powered smart irrigation systems supported by web and mobile applications, Esular provides farmers with the opportunity to irrigate without going to the field. Esular solutions, used by 150 farmers in Turkey, are also exported abroad.

While access to water resources in the world is rapidly decreasing, the importance of efforts to prevent water waste is increasing day by day. Founded in 2019 by two entrepreneurs named Erhan Sandal and Fatma Aktaş, who have more than 10 years of experience in the field of agricultural technologies, E-Sular paved the way for digitalization in agriculture with the irrigation solutions they offer to producers. The smart irrigation systems developed by Esular, consisting of battery-powered valves, sensors, and communication infrastructure supported by web and mobile applications, allow farmers to manage production processes without going to the field while also ensuring the protection of water resources.

150 Farmers are using it

With Esular's practical-to-install and easy-to-use solutions, effective water control solutions are provided in areas such as large agricultural lands, open farmland, urban landscape areas, golf courses, football fields, villas, and hotels. Monitoring of plant development and irrigation quality can be carried out with various sensor supports. Explaining that they founded Esular to develop effective and efficient water control technologies for more sustainable agriculture and to make them available and accessible to everyone, Esular Co-Founder Erhan Sandal said that their irrigation solutions have been used by 150 producers so far and very positive feedback has been received.

30 percent efficiency

Esular's solutions, sold at 1/4th the price of their imported counterparts, provide 30 percent savings in irrigation and energy, and 60 percent in labor, while increasing plant yield by 20-30 percent. Explaining that the devices are produced in their factory in Eskişehir, Erhan Sandal noted the following: "Now we plan to develop solutions on fertilization. After that, we have plans to develop advanced technologies on climate control. Currently, imported products are used in this field. We are working on developing domestic products."

Expanding abroad as well

Esular, which went on a crowdfunding round in 2023, closed this investment round with 250 thousand dollars. The company, using this investment to develop its production infrastructure, is bringing the factory in Eskişehir to life. Providing the information that they are currently preparing for a new investment round, Erhan Sandal continued his words as follows: "2-3 month within this investment also we plan to complete. We will use the money from this new investment to reach more farmers abroad. In the first stage, we made sales to farmers in the TRNC and Azerbaijan. In the coming period, we intend to expand into Eastern European countries such as Uzbekistan, Romania, and Bulgaria through local partners."

80 percent of water is used in agriculture

According to State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) data, the amount of usable clean water in Turkey is 112 billion cubic meters. Turkey is among the water-stressed countries with an annual water amount of 1300 cubic meters per person. Nearly 80 percent of water resources in Turkey are used in the agricultural sector. In other words, 45 billion cubic meters of the 55 billion cubic meters of water per year are used in the agricultural sector, and 25 billion cubic meters of water are wasted annually. For this reason, digitalization in agricultural irrigation is of great importance.
