Use of Magnetic Limescale Preventers in Agriculture

The aim in irrigated agriculture is to provide water of appropriate quality at an adequate level. The quality of water used in irrigation varies according to the amount and type of dissolved salts it contains. Salts originate from the weathering of rocks and soil. Among these weathered minerals, there are also very slowly dissolving minerals such as gypsum and lime. These salts are transported to irrigated areas and delivered to the soil. They accumulate in the soil as a result of water consumption through evaporation and plant use.

An increase in soil salinity affects the chemical, physical, and biological properties of the soil, reduces yield, restricts the types of plants to be grown, reduces aeration and water infiltration rates by creating an impermeable layer in the soil, and limits plant root development. Additionally, it negatively affects the availability and uptake of plant nutrients by the plants. In addition to its effects on the plant, it causes clogging in irrigation systems

As a result, issues related to soil and plants arise with the increase in the total salt content of the water. Some precautions must be taken to prevent these problems from causing yield and soil loss. Magnetic limescale preventers can also be considered among these precautions.

Use of Magnetic Limescale Preventers in Agriculture

Magnetic limescale preventers transform the limestone in calcite structure within the water into lime powder in aragonite structure through the magnetic field they create. These molecules, transformed into lime powder, are delivered to the plant root without causing clogging in the irrigation system. Since the water and lime crystals reaching the roots are smaller than their normal size, the rate of roots benefiting from rich minerals increases. Furthermore, it dissolves the lime accumulated inside the pipes in the irrigation system over time, ensuring the system is used trouble-free for a longer lifespan.
