Mr. Metin's land is open to modern agricultural techniques. Mr. Metin wanted to make his operations more efficient by remotely controlling the management of 6 valves in his field and the instantaneous m³ water flow. At this point, by stepping in, we offered an automatic irrigation solution according to soil moisture, suitable for the needs of the field with the esular system.
At this point, esular stepped in and optimized the entire process from the source of the water until it reaches the plant. With esular technologies, we offered a smart and automatic irrigation solution for the garden's needs.

Our Farmer's Problem

The problems Mr. Metin faced before joining esular were as follows.

  • Difficulty of Manual Control: In addition to the loss of time, manual control of whether there was mains water or not was very laborious and required human power.
  • Determining how many m³ of water is needed per day: Giving the water the plant needs by calculating manually and by eye on average increases water consumption.
  • Electricity problem of the land: Inability to install smart irrigation systems due to the lack of electricity.
  • Membership in the irrigation cooperative: The cooperative opens the irrigation line on Friday and closes it on Monday, therefore I have to constantly go to the garden between Friday and Monday to close one valve and open the other. For this reason, I have to spend my weekends in the garden. Furthermore, since there are intermittent cuts in the irrigation line, I cannot control whether I can give equal water to each section.
  • Labor Costs: Operations requiring constant human intervention caused high labor costs.
  • Lack of Control and Monitoring: The inability to monitor systems from a central point led to late detection of potential problems.
  • Fuel Consumption: Since the land is far away, constant commuting caused a certain fuel expense.

How Did We Solve the Problem?

With the esular system, we developed a comprehensive smart irrigation solution for Mr. Metin's needs.

Smart Solutions for Mr. Metin's Land.

Thanks to a comprehensive smart solution we developed to optimize irrigation and climate control on Mr. Metin’s land, water resources are used more efficiently while ideal conditions were provided for the healthy growth of plants. Here are the details of our project.

  • Remote Controlled Smart Irrigation: We placed pressure sensors to ensure that irrigation operations continue safely if the mains water is uninterrupted. In this way, when the water pressure dropped, the system automatically gave a warning and potential problems were prevented.
  • Pulse output water meter: By installing a suitable water meter for the land, we can see how many m³ of water was spent instantaneously, hourly, daily, and monthly thanks to esular.
  • Solar Panel Electricity Generation: In locations without electricity, the system was integrated using solar panels and batteries, eliminating the electricity problem.
  • Central Management Software: Thanks to our software that brings all systems together on a single platform, Mr. Metin had the opportunity to control his greenhouse from anywhere and at any time. He was able to easily plan and follow operations such as ventilation and irrigation.
  • Easy Access with Mobile App: Thanks to the mobile application we developed, Mr. Metin was able to control his greenhouse from anywhere with his mobile phone or tablet. In this way, he was able to instantly follow the developments regarding his greenhouse and make the necessary interventions.
  • Automatic Operations and Energy Saving: The system worked automatically according to the pre-determined program and sensor data, optimizing both irrigation and ventilation processes. In this way, both time and energy savings were achieved.

As a result, thanks to this smart solution we implemented on Mr. Metin's land, irrigation operations have been made more efficient, plant health has been optimized, and a significant increase in production has been achieved.

Achievements After the Solution

Increased Yield: Product yield increased significantly thanks to smart and automatic irrigation systems.
Cost Savings: Thanks to esular and the water meter I added to the line, I will be able to adjust irrigation periods precisely as I can see instantly how much water I give to each section. Since I will be able to remotely intervene with the valves, I will not be dependent on the garden on weekends; I will be able to devote my time to my other work and spend the weekend with my spouse and friends. More efficient use of labor and resources led to a decrease in operating expenses.
Time Management: Remote access and automation significantly reduced the time spent on well management.
Solar Panel Electricity Generation: In locations without electricity, the system was integrated using solar panels and batteries, eliminating the electricity problem.
Data Usage: More accurate and effective programming was made with the data obtained thanks to the sensors used.
Real-Time Monitoring: esular system allows for instantaneous data tracking, enabling rapid intervention in case of potential problems.
