Smart Fertilizer application is the automatic delivery of fertilizers needed by plants along with the irrigation system. It is not possible for the soil to meet all the minerals needed by plants on its own. For this reason, agricultural producers, farmers, and flower growers frequently perform the fertilization process for better yield.
In classical approaches, fertilizer application was in the form of fertilizers scattered over the land or poured at the base of the roots, which were then absorbed into the soil through rain or irrigation and subsequently used by the plants. This method causes a seriously problematic process in terms of both application and yield. In the new fertilization system, this process is carried out together with the irrigation system.
How to Perform Smart Fertilizer Application
In smart fertilizer application, the fertilizer is applied by being dissolved in drip irrigation water, which has now become widely used. In this way, instead of fertilizing the entire land, fertilizer is given directly to the root of the growing plant along with water, facilitating absorption. Of course, simply mixing the fertilizer into the water is not enough. For an effective application, continuous measurement data must be taken from the field, and the most suitable fertilizer type and ratio must be actively calculated according to the plant type. And the fertilization system should also operate automatically according to need.
