How does a soil moisture sensor work and what is its purpose?

What is Smart Garden and how does it work?
Smart Garden It is Esular's garden and landscape irrigation solution. What is the Smart Agro fertilizer dosing system?

Soil moisture sensor

At what depths does a soil moisture sensor measure?
Esular soil moisture sensors Can be installed at different depths such as 10cm, 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, and 60cm. The most suitable installation depth is determined according to the plant root zone depth. For example; 20-30cm is recommended for vegetable and fruit gardens, 30-40cm for field crops, and 40-60cm for fruit trees.
What data does a soil moisture sensor measure?
Esular soil moisture sensors measure three basic parameters:
Volumetric Water Content (VWC): Percentage of water in the soil.
Soil Temperature: Root zone temperature (°C).
Electrical Conductivity (EC): Salt and fertilizer concentration in the soil. These data are evaluated together to make optimal irrigation decisions.
How and where can sensor data be monitored?

How does sensor-based automatic irrigation work?

Battery replacement is typically done every 1-2 years.

What is the difference between E-Series and F-Series central stations?
E-Series central stations It features remote access via GSM/4G connection, optional 1-5W solar panel support, and capacity suitable for large-scale projects. The F-Series, with its more compact structure, is ideal for small and medium-scale projects. Both series use LoRa wireless communication technology and to the Esular cloud platform is connected.
What is the range of the wireless irrigation system?

What is the battery life of the valve control unit?
Esular wireless valve control units have a very long battery life because they operate with 9V DC Latch technology. Under normal use, 1-3 irrigation seasons no battery replacement is required. Battery level can be monitored from the mobile application, and a low battery alert is automatically sent.
How is an irrigation schedule created?
Irrigation schedules can be created via the Esular mobile application or web platform is easily created via. Weekly/daily calendar, time and duration-based programming, sensor-based automatic irrigation (soil moisture threshold values), and manual open-close options are available. How does wireless pivot control work?

How is a mechanical pivot converted to a digital pivot?
Esular converts existing mechanical pivot machines into digital automation systems. During the conversion process:
• The mechanical control panel is replaced with an Esular digital control unit.
• A GSM/4G wireless communication module is added.
• A GPS location tracking module is installed.
• Pressure sensors and pump matching system are integrated.

What is the difference between a solenoid valve and a butterfly valve?
A solenoid valve operates with an electromagnetic coil and opens and closes in less than 1 second. The 9V DC Latch version can operate with a battery. A butterfly valve, on the other hand, operates with a 24V AC electric actuator motor, provides gradual flow control, and takes ~30 seconds to fully open. Solenoid valves are preferred in agricultural irrigation, while butterfly valves are preferred in industrial automation and large-scale infrastructure projects. What is the difference between a plastic and cast solenoid valve?
Plastic solenoid valves It offers 10 bar (PN10) pressure resistance, diameters up to 6 inches, a lightweight body, and full corrosion resistance, making it the most preferred valve type in agricultural irrigation due to its economical price. Cast solenoid valves, on the other hand, are ideal for industrial applications and high-pressure systems with 16 bar (PN16) pressure resistance and diameters up to 10 inches. What is DC Latch (latching solenoid) and what are its advantages?
DC Latch (latching solenoid) is a technology that changes the valve position with a short electrical pulse and maintains its position even if power is lost. 9V DC Latch valves consume only millisecond pulse current, thus, hundreds of open-close cycles can be performed with a single 9V battery. It is ideal for wireless and solar-powered irrigation systems. The 24V AC alternative is used in facilities requiring a fixed grid power supply.
What diameters are available for solenoid valves?
Esular plastic solenoid valves are produced in a diameter range from ¾ inch to 6 inches. According to connection types: threaded (¾"-2½"), angled threaded (2"-2½"), flanged (3"-6"), angled flanged (¾"-4") and large body threaded models are available. Cast solenoid valves offer diameter options up to 10 inches.
How should a solenoid valve be selected?
Factors to consider when choosing a solenoid valve: project pressure value (PN10 or PN16), pipe diameter, connection type (threaded or flanged), energy source (9V DC Latch or 24V AC), and application area. Plastic threaded solenoid valves are preferred in garden and small agricultural projects; flanged in large-diameter projects; and cast solenoid valves in industrial high-pressure facilities. What is the difference between the web platform and the mobile application?

What types of alerts do push notifications include?
Push notifications available from the Esular mobile application include various alerts such as irrigation start/end warnings, low battery level alerts, sensor threshold exceedances (temperature, humidity, soil moisture), connection loss alerts, malfunction notifications, and planned maintenance reminders.
Can multiple users manage the same system?
Yes. Esular platform supports multiple users. Different authorization levels (administrator, operator, viewer) can be defined, allowing an irrigation system to be managed by multiple individuals. Each user's access and control rights can be set separately.
How long are past data stored?
On the Esular cloud platform, all sensor data, irrigation records, and system logs are stored long-term. Historical data can be viewed in graphic and report formats, seasonal comparisons can be made, and data can be exported in Excel/CSV format.

Can I install the products myself?
Yes. Esular products are designed on a 'plug & play' principle. A detailed installation guide and installation videos are provided with each product. How should the LoRa antenna be positioned?
For optimal communication performance, the LoRa antenna should be mounted as high as possible (pole, building roof, etc.). A 360° clear line of sight around the antenna is ideal. Metal obstacles, thick walls, and dense trees can negatively affect the range. A direct line-of-sight between the central station antenna and the valve control unit antennas is recommended.
How are device firmware updates performed?
Firmware updates for Esular devices can be done wirelessly via OTA (Over-The-Air) method. Updates containing new features and improvements are automatically notified and applied with user consent. This ensures your devices always run the latest software version.
